Astrid Allende Mobray
Performer. Choreographer. Instructor.
Astrid Allende Mobray is a professional salsa dancer, choreographer, and performer. She is most known for her beautiful smile, rhythmic body movement, and artistic expressions. Astrid's dance experience spans nearly 20 years and includes performances internationally as well as with a professional New York Dance company. She was featured on the 2004 Latin Comedy Show, "Llegamos", and has been acclaimed as one of New York's most talented "salseras". As an instructor, she is dedicated to bringing you the joy of dance while teaching you how to connect to the music of salsa all in an environment of fun and exploration.
Astrid's philosophy is that everyone can learn to dance if you let the music move you. She uses this approach to help students of all levels interpret music to find their own unique style of dance and expression. In 2011, Astrid founded the Allende Dance Company which serves to instruct students in the areas of salsa dancing, body movement, and healing through dance. A proud ambassador of Puerto Rican heritage, Astrid seeks to help spread the joy of salsa dancing and educate others on the richness of Latin music and culture. Astrid resides in West Nyack, New York with her family and continues to teach salsa in the greater New York community.
